This summer, our theme is "Alabama Has A Universe Of Stories" and we're celebrating our states 200 bicentennial, so we absolutely LOVE that Mikael B. chose to review a book about a famous Alabamian! Dr. Carver was born in Missouri but moved to Alabama to teach at the Tuskegee Institute.

He did so much for the world and we're very lucky to have had him teaching in our wonderful state, where he taught farmers about the benefits of crop rotation and keeping farm soil nutritious. One of his more widely known contributions to science was his development of many products through peanuts including: wood stains, coffee, oils, paper, flour, cereal and even laundry detergent (among many many more!).
