Ms. Mary's Monday Review

Kathrine Switzer thought women could run.  Even at schools where only men were on the teams, she was allowed to run with the men.  She once ran 31 miles, and she knew she could handle a marathon, like any man, because that course would only be 26.2 miles.  She was one of the early runners who proved that track was a great sport for girls.   Her Fearless Run is written by Kim Chaffee, and it tells about her early life and the day she completed the Boston Marathon!
