Ms. Mary's Monday Review

Pura Belpre was a trailblazer!  She felt that children who came from her home island of Puerto Rico should have access to books and stories of their culture, even while they were making new homes in the United States.  Making puppets and writing books, she told and read stories in many places as she traveled far and wide.  Promoting literacy and love for culture, Ms. Belpre was at the forefront of the bilingual movement in America.
This book is on a 4.0 A. R. level, and after taking the A. R. test, you get 0.5 point.
If you need bilingual books yourself, please come visit us, and check out some of our Spanish/English books.
A word of warning:  please warn your children to spot the poor grammar on multiple pages.  There are several sentence fragments and changes in tense, but the book is an enjoyable read!
